Hi there! My name is Jimmy A. and this is my blog/website. In it you’ll find some reviews of rock n’ roll albums new and old, as well as other things like song analyses and opinion pieces. There are also some special band pages where you can read about on your favorite or not-so-favorite groups (although these pages are, right now, scarce and works-in-progress). This site is interactive, so feel free to post comments.

I use a 1-10 rating system for my album reviews, as most record review sites do. Occasionally, for albums I really love, I’ll give a score of a “golden” ten. This is a very rare score awarded only to my absolute favorite records, so don’t expect to see it very often. Objectively, a normal ten is no different from a gold one, but I put it in there just for fun. However, I don’t give scores to bands or songs because, really, what’s the point?

If you would like to see a review of a certain band or album, feel free to drop a comment on this page, or really anywhere you feel like. Seeing as I’m a full-time college student, I won’t have the time or money to review every single album I come across, but I’ll try to fulfill your requests as best I can.

DISCLAIMER: Everything I write here (bar the odd news story here and there) is completely subjective. I don’t pretend to be the definitive authority on music in general, so you shouldn’t assume I think I am. Although I love to discuss music and talk about it to people whose opinions differ from mine, comments like “OMG METALLICA SUCKS” or “METALLICA RULES UR A DOUCHE” have no place here. They aren’t meaningful, they aren’t necessary, and all they do is clutter the comment sections. At the moment, I am accepting all comments posted here (except for spam and obviously hateful/discriminatory statements), but please try to keep the discussion civil. Free speech is embraced here, but remember that this is my blog as well.
